The AMA UK Conference and Awards

Proper are proud to be sponsoring the AMA UK Conference and Awards which take place next month on the 2nd and 3rd February.

The 3rd annual Conference takes place across two days this year at The Brewhouse in Hackney and will begin with a keynote speech from AMA executive director Jed Hilly followed by three panels on topics affecting Americana in the UK. The first day of the conference ends with Bob Harris in conversation with Billy Bragg. As part of the conference, an evening event showcasing some of the best of Americana in the UK will take place at the Moth Club in Hackney on the 2nd February. Day two features a fantastic opportunity to delve in to what really makes this genre tick: the song.

The inaugural UK Americana Awards show takes place following the conference on 3rd February 2016 at the iconic St. John at Hackney music venue in East London. The show will be hosted by the legendary broadcaster Bob Harris with award winning producer and musician Ethan Johns taking on the role of musical director for the show.

The UK Americana Awards have been created to celebrate the achievements of British and International members of the Americana music community. AMA-UK member-voted awards and special awards will be presented during the show. The awards show will feature nominee and special guest performances in front of an audience of AMA-UK members, partners & sponsors, music industry guests and the general public.
