Sam Lee and Roller Trio Nominated for 2012 Barclaycard Mercury Prize
We are delighted to be distributing two of the twelve Mercury Prize nominated albums for this year’s prestigious award. Ground of Its Own is the critically acclaimed debut album by Sam Lee, a young folk musician who is busy forging a unique path, not just in terms of his own artistic development but also by supporting and having influence on a whole new generation of musicians.
Described as the “new sound of UK Jazz” by Gilles Peterson, Roller Trio’s self-titled debut album is a fresh, visceral stew of conventional and experimental sounds, where jazz rubs shoulders with DIY alt rock and electronica.
Proper Music Distribution would like to extend their congratulations to the all of the Mercury nominees, these albums undoubtedly represent a year of innovative & quality music.
