Pop duo TWIN cause controversy after arrest at Hillsborough
16.10.06
news pic28,687 football fans anticipating new pop/rock sensation TWIN, got a little more than they bargained for at the Hillsborough Sheffield Wednesday Stadium during half time.

18 year old identical twins, Nixx and Francine Power whose stunning debut single 'Cum on Feel The Noize' is released on BUT! Records this Monday (16th October), are on the verge of hitting the big time and following a recent successful tour in Eastern Europe, and were looking forward to performing the hit track at their hometown and supported football club.

In a tense and evenly poised local derby vs rivals Barnsley, the MC for Sheffield Wednesday made the unfortunate mistake of introducing them to the capacity crowd as "two girls from Sheffield"; immediately riling the Barnsley supporters and enticing them to boo and shout obscenities to the 18 year-old singers. The girls, idolised by 1000's of young children and teenagers, following a successful run of big summer roadshow performances, retaliated by telling the Barnsley supporters to 'F**k off' .... (they are lovely girls, BUT dont mess with them)!!!!..... before launching into a magnifficent live performance of their highly charged version of the 'Slade' classic.

Following the performance, TWIN were promptly arrested by 5 police officers and taken to the local station. They were consequently charged with causing a breach of the peace and bailed out until a future hearing.

Twin have subsequently apologised unreservedly for their actions and issued a statement in their defence.

"Our actions yesterday were totally knee jerk and when we heard the foul abuse being shouted at us from the crowd our natural defence mechanism took over. We apologise for offending anyone, and would hope that most would agree they may well have acted in the same way if faced with the torrent of obscenities we were exposed to. We are also sorry for letting down Sheffield Wednesday after their hospitality, and trust they also understand that our actions were a genuine mistake."

Two weeks ago 'TWIN' performed the hit track during half time of Sheffield United's home match vs Middlesborough. Their magnifficent performance inspired a lasp gasp winner for the newly promoted Premiership side, (their first of the season). Yesterday, the fiesty, young Rock chicks' performance inspired exactly the same effect at their supported club, with Sheffeld Wednesday winning the game 2-1 in the last minute!!!! ..... The chances are they wont be invited back, but these lucky Rock n Roll mascotts, being heralded as 'legends' and 'heroes' on many Sheffield football websites and chat forums this weekend, are set to clinch many bigger victories in the near future!!!!

'Cum On Feel The Noize' is released on BUT! Records (CDSBUT 22) on Monday 16th October .....
