 This years London Jazz Festival is an absolute treat for anyone with an interest in the form, from the velvety smooth to the abrasive and metallic.
Proper, being the open-minded group we are, have artists stretching across every conceivable gamut of this wide reaching genre- from the confrontation of Fraud, Led Bib and Acoustic Ladyland, to the smoother sounds of Liane Carroll, Ola Onabule and Abram Wilson or the Portico Quartet who sit somewhere between these two extremes to Basquiat Strings who deserve a category unto themselves!
The festival takes place until the 25th of November at venues around the capital. Below is a complete list of Proper artists and the venues/ dates of the shows, from tonight until the end of the festival!
20th- Vortex Eclectica: Portico Quartet and Three Trapped Tigers at the Vortex
21st- Fraud at the Vortex
21st- Ola Onabule and Melody Gardot at the Pigalle
22nd- Acoustic Ladyland with Fulborn Teversham and Luke Barlow Band at the Luminaire
22nd- Liane Carroll at the 606 Club
23rd- Roberto Fonseca + Basquiat Strings at the Queen Elizabeth Hall
23rd- Jazz Jamaica plus special guests and Abram Wilson and London Community Gospel Choir at the Royal Festival Hall
23rd- Led Bib and Chik Budo plus very special guests at the Luminaire
24th- Bill Bruford and Michiel Borstlap plus Portico Quartet at the Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall
