Military Voices Charity Single Added to BBC Radio 2 Playlist
Update 18-12-2014: The single has now moved from the B List onto the BBC Radio 2 A List.
From this coming Saturday, the Military Voices charity single ‘1914, The Carol of Christmas’ will be included on BBC Radio 2s playlist. 100 years on from the very first Christmas in the trenches of the Great War, Military Voices are once again raised in harmony for a moving song of tribute to bravery and sacrifice.
The song, simply titled ‘1914 – The Carol of Christmas’ celebrates the power of Christmas to bring peace in the midst of war and commemorates those who fought in World War One.
The song is sung by an ensemble of military voices and soloists including Flight Lieutenant Matt Little, Abby Scott and twelve-year-old Canterbury Cathedral chorister and BBC Radio 2’s Young Chorister of the Year Finalist William Inscoe who are accompanied by the RAF Spitfire Choir, one of the RAF’s top vocal groups.
The song is available for download on iTunes, Amazon MP3 Store and Google Play with 100% of the profits from the sale of the recording going to the three charities.
