Founded in 1987, BGO Records is an independent reissue label specialising in classic highly collectable recordings of groups, singers and instrumentalists from the fifties through to the eighties. Their main activity is digitally remastering albums previously only available on vinyl and issuing them on CD.

Wienerworld specialises in releasing, marketing, and distributing niche music content on DVD, Blu-Ray, CD, vinyl and digital formats. Their focus has traditionally been on music but they keep adding to their extensive DVD catalogue with a large variety of other genres including film, documentary, horror, theatrical and more.


Show of Hands are widely acknowledged as the finest acoustic roots duo in England. Knightley, who writes most of their inspired material and Beer, a dazzling multi instrumentalist, have built up a huge following which has seen them sell out the Royal Albert Hall three times, headline major festivals from Glastonbury to WOMAD and play all over the world.

Fay Hield has been singing traditional songs from an alarmingly early age. Bringing new arrangements to old songs, Fay continues in her exploration of the incredible repertoire that is the English tradition pushing at the boundaries of our engagement with music.

Jake Shimabukuro’s life has always centered on the ukulele. He started playing at the age of four, urged by his mother who also played. Known for his powerful strumming on the ukulele, Jake’s performances incorporate elements of thoughtful, sophisticated arrangements to spontaneous, improvised passages.

Bellowhead are an English contemporary folk band who play traditional tunes, with arrangements drawing inspiration from a wide diversity of musical styles and influences. Formed in 2004, the band scarcely imagined that one day they’d be headlining major UK and international festivals and selling out tours of major concert halls, or that they’d sell in excess of 250,000 albums.

Paul Carrack is still at the top of his game and still out there proving it every night. “The options are, get stuck in and do as much as you possibly can, or get fat and lazy,” he says. “I think work’s quite good for you.”

Named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the Top 20 Guitarists of All Time, Richard Thompson is also one of the world’s most critically acclaimed and prolific songwriters. He has received Lifetime Achievement Awards for Songwriting on both sides of the Atlantic – from the Americana Music Association in Nashville to Britain’s BBC Awards and the prestigious Ivor Novello.

Bella Hardy’s seventh solo album With The Dawn – her first since being named BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer Of The Year in 2014– isn’t just the latest collection of songs from this prolific and ingenious artist. The album is an account of one year of her life.

Alter Bridge’s Mark Tremonti has confirmed his second solo release with his band TREMONTI, following the worldwide success of the 2012 debut ‘All I Was’. The new album ‘Cauterize’ features Mark Tremonti on vocals/guitars, Eric Friedman on guitars, Wolfgang Van Halen on bass, and Garrett Whitlock on drums.

Fresh from her induction into the prestigious Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Gretchen Peters unveiled her new album ‘Blackbirds’ on the 9th February and went straight into Number One in the UK Country Chart. The new album was co-produced by Doug Lancio and Barry Walsh and features a who’s who of modern American roots music.

Sam Lee, Mercury Prize nominated folk singer, promoter and animateur released his new album ‘The Fade In Time’ in March 2015. Sam takes a 21st Century view on Folk traditions from the UK and around the world – re-imagining the British folk tradition through the eyes of the wider world.

Karine Polwart draws from folk music’s long tradition while keeping pace with the ceaselessly changing times. Her talent for crafting unique, enduring melodies, her gift for saying just enough without overstating her case, the range and dynamism of her arrangements, all come together in songs of powerful contemporary relevance.

From writing hits for other artists to recording her own, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Nashville based singer-songwriter has truly embraced musical diversity. A breast cancer survivor, environmental activist, teacher of workshops and lecturer on the magic of creativity, Beth’s passion, when you get right down to it is still ‘the song’.

John & Jacob, born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama found their roots in the sounds of back-porch pickers and harmonies of gospel singers. Due to support The Shires on their upcoming UK tour, the boys have already been receiving strong support from BBC Radio 2, their eponymous debut album will be released soon in the UK.

Hailing from the shores of Cornwall and Donegal, Winter Mountain blend melodic folk songs, heartfelt lyrics and two voices in a sound reminiscent of a time before digital recording when the emphasis fell on the importance of live performance, the power of harmony and the essence of the song.

For her fifth solo album Echoes, Emily Smith returned to her first love of traditional song. Her gift for finding a personal connection in these passed-down, anon-penned words is still at the heart of her craft. Fabian Holland seems to have sprung fully‐fledged from nowhere though he’s been playing music and performing live since a youngster. He grew up in an artistic household where performance and artistic expression were part of everyday life, listening to blues guys such as Sonny Boy Williamson and Muddy Waters.
