BBC Radio Scotland Playlist Update

Three Proper distributed artists are currently on rotation on the BBC Radio Scotland Playlist including Simpson Cutting Kerr, Peatbog Faeries and Lau.

‘Dark Honey’ is the newest addition and comes from Simpson Cutting Kerr’s upcoming album Murmurs, a compelling mix of traditional and original material. The song was written by Nancy Kerr and inspired by the sight of swarms of bees in her urban garden.

The Peatbog Faeries song ‘Is This Your Son’ is also featured along with Lau’s ‘The Death of the Dining Car’. Is This Your Song comes from Peatbog Faeries seventh album ‘Blackhouse’, recorded in a remote cottage in Ardnarmurchan, Argyle, the album is the first to feature Shetland fiddler Ross Couper. The Death of the Dining Car is taken from Lau’s new album The Bell That Never Rang, Lau have been described by the Guardian as “a remarkable band – the most musically adventurous trio in British folk exquisite and hypnotic, musicianship at its best.”
