BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2016 – The Winners

Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards which took place last night at a star studded bash at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The celebrations were kicked off by The John McCusker Band performing Calendar Boys from McCusker’s new album Hello Goodbye. Other performances on the night came from Lynched, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, Sam Lee & Friends, Norma Waterson, Joan Armatrading, Rufus Wainwright, Mark Knopfler and The Unthanks, you can watch the show in full now on the BBC iPlayer.

Alongside the winners listed below, John McCusker received the Good Tradition Award whilst Joan Armatrading and Norma Waterson were both honored with Lifetime Acheivement Awards with Norma receiving one of the biggest cheers on the night and a standing ovation.
